If you ask me I will very fast tell you DIY green cleaning is down right amazing, then add to that how very rarely we do get sick & you realize DIY natural cleaning does not  compromise our immune system & how well these cleaners are working. Have you noticed the same thing?

And wait you can even reuse the old spray bottle if you prefer. just clean it really good with warm baking soda water & rinse well. Cleaner #1 ( For glass, mirrors& surfaces & can be used to buff chrome & stainless steel)
Large spray bottle
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
Fill the rest of the way with water

Cleaner #2 ( For glass, mirrors& surfaces & can be used to buff chrome & stainless steel)
Large spray bottle
1 cup white vinegar
1 tbsp corn starch
fill bottle the rest of the way with warm water & shake.

Cleaner #3 ( For glass, mirrors& surfaces & can be used to buff chrome & stainless steel)
I love using Peroxide with a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a small spray bottle. This works better than most realize, some prefer just the peroxide straight as it makes a great glass & surface cleaner & shines metals. You can even just put a sprayer on a peroxide bottle & get spraying, shinning & cleaning all over the house. From stains on laundry, to a powerful cleaner for kitchen & bathroom, & even in the air.

Stainless steel cleaner
Put some coconut oil, olive oil or other oil on a dry wash cloth in a circular motions rub  with the grain over Surface & buff (wiping off any excess).

Chrome Cleaner
What You Need:
White vinegar
Water
A spray bottle
A sponge or cleaning rag (dry)
Mix together equal parts white vinegar and water. Spray on & buff

Multi purpose spray cleaner:
Spray bottle
Straight white vinegar
Options to add: Use Citrus vinegar, essential oils. Works great on Windows, Mirrors & Chrome as well.

Deodorizing Germ Fighting room and Linen spray (Nursery too)

It is easy to make your own room & linen sprays & they deodorize & are germ fighting naturally.

+Natural & Frugal: Raising 6 kids 

I love to use these recipes to refresh all the furniture, bedding, linens in my whole house & love it, I bought little misting spray bottles for some uses, but most of the time I use larger spray bottles on the mist setting.

And these sprays are great for use in a Nursery or kids rooms too. Adjust them to suit your needs.

Pillow, mattress, linen, closet & room spray #1
Large spray bottle, 10 drops lavender, 10 drops eucalyptus essential oils (or essential oils of choice), 1/4 cup natural witch hazel, fill the rest of the bottle with filtered or distilled water & mist it around in the air, on linens, pillows, mattresses, curtains whatever & it can be used for a surface cleaner also.
Options to add: 1/2 cup white vinegar or peroxide, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tsp Borax, 1/2 cup colloidal silver.

Pillow, mattress, linen, closet & room spray #2
Large spray bottle, fill 1/2 way with colloidal silver (or all the way) fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water, use the same way as recipe #1
Options to add: 1/4 cup lemon juice, essential oils of choice, 1 tsp baking soda.

DIY Sanitizing Flooring and Carpet cleaners - Spot clean, mopping, carpet machines recipes

Sanitizing floor cleaners For flooring and carpets (for spray bottles spot clean, mop bucket or machines for carpet)

I basically use the same natural items as I clean my whole house with to also clean my floors, Using the same items like Vinegar for cleaning the whole house saves everyone time, money & health plus the added peace of mind knowing that using these products in your home is safe for you, your family & the environment. This article is for cleaning your floors fast, easy & effectively using DIY safe natural cleaning products.

#1 - Just white vinegar in water is a great sanitizer and you can mix it with ideas #2, #3, #4 & #5 for an amazing combo & effectiveness.

#2 - 1 to 2 cups of Colloidal silver in water. (alone or mixed with #1)

#3 - Tea tree oil, Lavender, Eucalyptus , Lemon or other disinfecting essential oils. (alone or mixed with #1)

#4 - 1 to 2 cups lemon juice. (alone or mixed with #1)

#5 - Mix baking soda in warm water to dissolve.  (alone or mixed with #1 added slowly because it will fizz)

#6 -  Ultimate floor mopping sanitizing and cleaning.
A- For this one you need just a bit extra work and you do not to add any extras. For the spray method use: 2 spray bottles, fill one spray bottle with straight white vinegar and the other spray bottle with straight 3% peroxide, spray the floor good with one, then spray the floor good with the other allow to sit a minute and mop with dry mop.
B- For mop buckets use 2 to 3 cups white vinegar in one mop bucket and 2 cups 3% peroxide in the other mop bucket. Damp mop on the floor with the first bucket, then rinse mop and damp mop with second bucket, allow to sit a few minutes and mop as normal.
It does not matter rather you use the vinegar or use the peroxide first, I tend to prefer using the vinegar first though. The instant reaction of these 2 kills many germs and bacteria, you do not want to mix them in the bottle or the bucket because the reaction only lasts seconds after mixing. (more info)

Lets get cleaning the whole bathroom with DIY cleaners - Safe, effective, perfect

DIY all things Bathroom cleaning.

As always I use the same items for my bathroom cleaning as I do in my other DIY green cleaning around the house.

+Natural & Frugal: Raising 6 kids 

Remember measurements do not need to be exact, that’s part of the beauty of DIY cleaners there is no exact science just mix it the way it works best for you.

Some of the things you need for DIY bathroom are:

• White vinegar (& ACV)
• Baking soda
• Borax
• Corn starch
• Salt
• Essential oils (for bathroom Eucalyptus, Lemon & Tea tree)
• Peroxide
• Lemon juice (or Lime)
• Rubbing alcohol
• Colloidal silver
• And a natural liquid soap like Castile (or Dawn Dish soap if you can not get Castile)
• Toothbrush, sponge, spray bottle, scrubber & wash clothes

A DIY Bathroom: How to Green & Healthy, but is DIY as effective & as sanitary as commercial bathroom cleaning  products?
In my home they have been put to the test time & time again & the DIY products never fail us & DIY cleaners do not irritate my damaged lung, my Sons asthma, or any allergies. Part of the truth of how well they work is how rarely we get sick, the same is true of others I have talked to who have switched to DIY cleaning.

Some info on the cleaning power of just 3 of the DIY ingredients:

Vinegar for cleaning:
Straight 5 percent solution of vinegar kills 99 percent of bacteria, 82 percent of mold, and 80 percent of germs (viruses).

Baking soda for cleaning:
Baking soda made from soda ash or sodium carbonate, this mineral has the ability to balance  the naturally made pH acidic and pH alkaline that resides in all living things.  Including: bacteria, mold, mildew and a host of many other natural odor-causing organisms  can be neutralized with the use of baking soda. Borax for cleaning:
Borax is used as a natural laundry booster, multipurpose cleaner, fungicide, preservative, insecticide, herbicide, disinfectant, dessicant. (Banish Black Mold, Naturally). Borax is odorless, whitish (can have various color impurities), and alkaline. It is not flammable and is not reactive. It can be mixed with most other cleaning agents, (including chlorine bleach). Borax cleans & bleaches by converting some water molecules to hydrogen peroxide. This reaction is better in hotter water. The pH of borax is about 9.5, so it produces a basic solution in water, thereby increasing the effectiveness of bleach and other cleaners. In other chemical reactions, borax acts as a buffer, maintaining a stable pH needed to maintain cleansing chemical reactions. The boron, salt, and/or oxygen of boron inhibit the metabolic processes of many organisms. This characteristic allows borax to disinfect. Borates bonds with other particles to keep ingredients dispersed evenly in a mixture, which maximizes the surface area of active particles to enhance cleaning power. (article)

Others:
The Power of Vinegar, Baking soda & Borax is cleaning & sanitizing are amazing, green & safe. Other ingredients that also effectively kill germs, viruses & bacteria are colloidal silver, essential oils, salt, lemon juice & rubbing alcohol. So when using safe DIY products you are not at all loosing effectiveness & possibly are getting a cleaner home free of chemicals. So going DIY can be healthier: Commercial & Natural vs DIY cleaners & your immune system

Eucalyptus & lemon essential oil or Lemon juice: these essential oils & lemon juice either mixed in vinegar, water, baking soda, borax etc make great grime removers separate & together for tub, shower, toilet, sink, counters, faucets, shower curtains/doors etc. & as a plus they are naturally a disinfectant & safe to use. So they can be added separate or together to almost any recipe below for an amazing grime fighting for things like soap scum in the shower & tub. Eucalyptus for me is the best for soap scum & grime & I add it to all my tub, shower, sink cleaners & to my soft scrub.

Now onto how to make the DIY cleaners & use them in your bathroom

To keep any mixtures you make ahead fresh longer & to add sanitizing power add colloidal silver.

A few basic cleaners that can be used around the bathroom (& house)

Soft scrub for sinks, counter, toilet, tub, faucets, shower etc

1 cup of baking soda

1/4 cup of natural liquid soap

1 tbsp peroxide

1 tbsp water

10 to 15 drops of lemon essential oil

10 to 15 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Store in an old soft scrub bottle or jar with sealing lid, use just like soft scrub, the eucalyptus really cleans scum & grim, the scrubbing power of baking soda cleans better than harsh abrasives, lemon cleans calcium deposits, peroxide is a whitener/brightener. Great for tubs, sinks, faucets, toilets, tile, shower doors anywhere there are water spots & lime deposits.

Options: to make a thicker paste gradually add salt & corn starch

Tub, shower, toilet & faucet scrub:

1 box of baking soda

A spray cleaner from above

sprinkle on, spray & clean

Options to add: Lemon essential oil, Eucalyptus essential oil, salt

Use anywhere you need to scrub, you can let it sit before washing off if desired.

DIY Natural Antibacterial Cleaning Wipes: for sink, shower toilet etc

(to replace Toxic Clorox & Lysol cleaning wipes)

In a bowl combine 2 cups of warm/hot water with 2 tbsp of Borax, stir till dissolved.

Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar,

1/2 cup of lemon juice,

10 drops of tea tree oil

5 drops of 1 essential oil of choice (lavender, orange, lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus)

Use a plastic or glass seal tight container or leftover baby wipe container etc.

You can use cut up T Shirts, or use wash-clothes or a roll of paper towels cut in half etc, put in container & pour mixture over it.

Options to add, 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, 1/4 cup colloidal silver &/or replace vinegar with peroxide. These are a multi purpose cleaning wipe safe for use around little ones, use on high chairs at restaurants or grocery carts etc. Can be used in Kitchen, bathroom, nursery, on toys, counters, floors, walls on & on

Frugal ideas: The best DIY Shower/Tub cleaner:
12 oz. Vinegar (heated)
10 oz. natural liquid soap
Heat the vinegar for 2 minutes and add to a spray bottle. Add the soap and shake gently to combine. Use to clean your sinks, tubs and showers.

Multi purpose spray cleaner #1:

Spray bottle

1/2 cup lemon or lime juice (Or both)

1/2 cup of peroxide

Fill the rest with water

Options to add: essential oils of choice (if dealing with soap scum add Eucalyptus essential oil)

Great for cleaning all around the bathroom, even mirrors, keep handy for fast cleaning of any area in your home.

Frugal Multi purpose spray cleaner #2:

Spray bottle

Strait rubbing alcohol

Options to add: White vinegar, water, essential oils, Lemon juice

This one is great in smaller spray bottles for fast drying cleaning like toilet seats, door handles & misting the toilet brush.

Multi purpose spray cleaner #3:

Spray bottle

Straight white vinegar

Options to add: Use Citrus vinegar, essential oils

Also great all around the bathroom, works great on Windows Mirrors & Chrome, sliding tub doors also, great all around the house

Mold on Tile, shower or anywhere:

The best products for mold are peroxide, baking soda, Borax, lemon juice, lemon essential oil, Eucalyptus essential oil, Tea tree oil & Colloidal silver

Use one or more of the powders, mix in a liquid &/or an essential oil & use a scrub brush or strong toothbrush & allow to sit several hors if possible & then rinse off & repeat as needed.

Bathroom deodorizing, germ fighting spray:

Spray bottle

Distilled water

For every cup of water used add 2 to 4 drops of each

Eucalyptus essential oil

Tea tree oil

Options to add: 1 drop per cup of water of Lemon essential oil

Great to mist in the air, for surface cleaning, toilet cleaning & tub, also great around the house. Can also be misted on toilet brush to deodorize & sanitize.

Chrome & faucet shine:

Just baking soda & water, scrub, rinse of with warm water & buff with dry paper towel, yup that easy

Options to add: coconut oil very sparingly

Toilet bowl cleaner #1:

2 tbsp Baking soda

2 tbsp Borax

1 to 2 cups White vinegar

add the baking soda & borax to the toilet bowl water, stir around with toilet brush, then add the vinegar & let it fiz, scrub with brush then flush, if very dirty let it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom or overnight before scrubbing & flushing

Options to add: essential oils, Lemon juice, salt

Toilet bowl cleaner #2:

2 tbsp baking soda

2 tbsp borax or washing soda (make your own washing soda)

1 tbsp of natural liquid soap

1 to 2 cups white vinegar

Add the baking soda & borax to the toilet bowl water, stir around with toilet brush, add the liquid soap & swish it around, then add the vinegar & let it fiz, scrub with brush then flush, if very dirty let it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom or overnight before scrubbing & flushing.

Options: Add warmed water to the toilet bowl first, heat the vinegar before adding.

Moping the floors:

Just add a couple of cups of white vinegar to hot water in a mop bucket

Options: add lemon juice, essential oils, liquid soap

Get cleaning those bedrooms with natural DIY cleaners - How too (plus get rid of bed bugs)

We clean our bedrooms just like the rest of the house we still mainly use the same items as we do in any other DIY green cleaning around the whole house. Using the same multi purpose products in the whole house saves so much money & time & gives you peace of mind knowing you are not polluting the air with chemicals & you are not leaving toxic residue on mattresses or anywhere.

.Some of the things you need for DIY Bedroom are:

• White vinegar
• Baking soda
• Borax
• Corn Starch
• Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth
• Essential oils (Eucalyptus, Lavender, Rosemary & Tea tree etc)
• Peroxide
• Colloidal silver
• etc

A DIY Bedroom: How to Green & Healthy, but are these DIY ideas as effective to kill germs,bacteria odors & dust mites like commercial Bedroom cleaning  products do?
The fast answer is: You bet they are! (check out the other blog posts in this series linked to above for lots more info) And the best part no compromising your immune system.

Some info on effectiveness of DIY Green Cleaning.
Essential oils & Baking soda effective cleaners & at killing dust mites: A simple way to rid dust mites is to clean your mattress, carpet, and upholstered furniture using just baking soda and essential oils. According to this study, dust mites can be killed by using peppermint, eucalyptus or wintergreen essential oil. When combined with baking soda, which absorbs moisture, deodorizer and sanitizer, this powerhouse duo can be an extremely effective, natural, and non-toxic household cleaner. (HERE)

Now onto how to make all things DIY Bedroom.

Mattress cleaning deodorizing & stain removal ideas.

To freshen, deodorizer & kill dust mites.
Add 2 cups of baking soda, 10 drops lavender essential oil, 5 to 10 drops Tea tree oil to a bowl use a fork & your fingers to evenly mix & break up clumps, simply sprinkle on bare mattress & work in with broom, brush or hands & let sit  on mattress several hours before vacuuming up. A great tip is to add this mixture to an empty Parmesan cheese container for easy sprinkling.
Options to add to mixture: 1 cup of eucalyptus leaves ground in a blender till fine or other herbs fresh or dried, Any other essential oils you wish to add, 1/2 cup of corn starch (this is great to absorb oils etc) 1/4 cup salt,  1/2 cup of food grade Diatomaceous earth (to deodorize & kill fleas, mites, bed bugs, ants etc) 1/2 cup borax (helps freshen, remove odors, sanitize & kill critters) &/or several caps of peroxide just enough to make a nearly damp crumble (sanitizes, deodorizer, freshens, brightens & stain removal)

For pet pee or human pee on mattress.
Borax can remove the smell of urine from furniture and mattresses.  Just wet the areas of the mattress or furniture that are affected and shake on some Borax.  Wait for the whole thing to dry completely and then vacuum it away. (info from here)

kill Bed Bugs.
Simply sprinkle Food grade diatomaceous earth all over mattress (And room), between mattress & box springs, dust on legs & on the floor around legs, work into mattress with a broom or brush allow to sit overnight or longer is best to kill bed bugs effectively (can also kill spiders, ants, fleas, chiggers, mites, roaches & other creepy crawlies) Only vacuum mattress top, leave a DE layer between the mattress & box spring for however long you want, sweep & vacuum floors, baseboard etc, if you have an infestation leave some DE in corners & behind things, sprinkle in window seals, wash everything in hot water with Borax, And sit legs of bed in plastic bowls with DE in them.

Stains

Blood: use peroxide with a cotton ball, brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone

Ink: Rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball, brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone

Bodily oils etc: rub corn starch into area, brush with toothbrush as needed, leave several hours to absorb then simply brush off or vacuum.

Other stains:
#1 White vinegar, ball, brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone.
#2 baking soda & lemon juice &/or white vinegar brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone, then brush off or vacuum once dry.
#3 lemon juice & peroxide with a cotton ball, brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone.
#4 Borax & water paste brush with toothbrush as needed, keep applying until gone, then brush off or vacuum once dry.

Pee, pet pee, puke etc.
Spray spot with white vinegar or peroxide, pour a light covering of salt on area, make a slightly damp paste of baking soda & peroxide, add just a drop or 2 liquid natural soap mix & spread on area working in with a brush, allow to dry, brush off or vacuum, repeat if needed.

Marks on walls.
Baking soda & water paste rub with dry wash cloth, then wipe off (careful not to remove paint)

Pillow, mattress, linen, closet & room spray deodorizer.
Large spray bottle, 10 drops lavender, 10 drops eucalyptus essential oils (or essential oils of choice), 1/4 cup witch hazel, fill the rest of the bottle with water & mist it around
Options to add: 1/2 cup white vinegar or peroxide, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tsp Borax, 1/2 cup colloidal silver.

Room spray sanitizer & deodorizer.
Large spray bottle, fill 1/2 way with colloidal silver (or all the way) fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water, spray in the air & mist on mattress, linens curtains, walls etc & allow to air dry.
Options to add: 1/4 cup lemon juice, essential oils of choice, 1 tsp baking soda.

Cobwebs.
We use a duster misted with straight white vinegar & wipe them down easily, seems to also deter dust very well.

Nail holes in walls.
Make a thick paste with baking soda & water, or borax & water & simply fill holes, wait for them to dry & paint over them, this can also be done with white toothpaste.

Squeaky hinges & drawers
Use olive oil or Coconut oil just as you would WD40

Sachet ideas for drawers & closets
Use a mesh bag, bowl with lid & holes or sock tied, baking soda & favorite essential oils, just baking soda, baking soda & borax, baking soda & crushed dried eucalyptus leaves (or other dried herbs)  potpourri & baking soda &/or essential oils

And because this happened in my room, cleaning up spilled paint or paint specks on windows & floors.
For carpet or furniture add strait white vinegar to Shampoo machine & use on hot setting, works like a charm but may require multiple tries
For hardwood floor/furniture, walls, windows etc pain drippings or speckles, Warmed white vinegar in spray bottle & dry washcloth, toothbrush & scraper, also works like a charm, I usually let sit a minute or so before using one of my tools.

How to naturally clean Babies room (nursery) with safe and effective DIY cleaners

DIY all things For Baby Nursery cleaning.

Some of the things you need for DIY Safe healthy Nursery are:

• White vinegar
• Baking soda
• Borax
• Peroxide
• Corn Starch
• Lemon Juice (or Lime)
• Colloidal silver
• Essential oils (Tea tree, Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus)
• Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE)
• etc

A DIY Nursery: How to Green & Healthy, but are these DIY ideas as effective to kill germs, bacteria & odors like commercial cleaning  products do? Are they safe around Babies?
After many years of researching & lots of years of using these items around my home, my babies as newborns & as they grew I can say without a doubt that the answer is: Heck yea, You bet they are! (check out the other blog posts in this series linked to above for lots more info) And the best part no compromising your immune system.

Some info on effectiveness of DIY Green Cleaning & your baby (from sources linked to).
Safe ways to clean the nursery: Disinfect:Never disinfect baby furniture or other items with bleach or standard disinfectants. Disinfectants other than food grade distilled white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide are laden with toxic chemicals that cause far more serious ailments than the germs they supposedly kill. Vinegar has been proven to kill more germs than bleach. Essential oils are excellent cleaners as well as deodorizers, disinfectants and antiseptics.

Baking soda is a chemical compound that appears as a fine powder. It releases bubbles of carbon dioxide when it interacts with an acid and a liquid. It's most commonly used in baking, where it acts as a leavening agent. But baking soda is not used just for cooking, it can be used all over the house. Cooking, cleaning, even making crafts. Although much more expensive products have been developed over the years to do the same jobs, baking soda can work for you just as well, if not better. (Here)

Now onto how to make all things: DIY Cleaning a Nursery.

Disinfecting sprays can be multi surface, multi purpose for cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, they can be sprayed on messes to clean up, misted in the air & so on. Always spot check first. Option to add to any disinfecting spray: Colloidal silver. 

disinfecting spray #1
Spray bottle, 1/2 water & 1/2  vinegar (or citrus vinegar)
Options to  add: 5 drop of essential oil.

Large spray bottle, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup peroxide, fill the rest of the bottle with water.
Options to add: essential oils, Lime juice.

disinfecting spray #3
Dissolve 2 tablespoons of Borax in 2 cups of warm/hot water, add to spray bottle & fill with cool water. (Is Borax safe).

disinfecting spray #4
To a large spray bottle add 5 to 10 drops each, tea tree oil & lavender essential oils, fill the bottle the rest of the way with water.

On to more cleaning.

Diaper pails can get stinky rather they are cloth or disposable diapers, & cloth diapers need soaked to get stains out, the below mixtures work best for most people, if your baby is sensitive stop using the mixture & try another.

Diaper pail odors #1 (cloth)
Add 1/2 to 1 cup of white vinegar to diaper pail.
Options to add, 5 to 10 drops Lavender or Eucalyptus essential oil

Diaper pail odors #2 (cloth)
1/8 cup of Borax per 1 gallon of warm water to soak diapers in the pail.

Diaper pail odors #3 (cloth)
1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup peroxide & warm water to diaper pail.

Diaper pail odors #4 (cloth)
1/2 to 1 cup of baking soda either sprinkled over diapers or added to water.

For disposable diaper Pails/Trash
Sprinkle baking soda in with the diapers, or sprinkle baking soda & essential oils, baking soda & corn starch, baking soda & borax, spray with one of the above sprays.

Rattles & other baby toys
Simply wash in warm vinegar water  1/2 cup to one gallon warm water, or Baking soda water, 1/2 cup to one gallon warm water. Simply wash & allow to air dry, you can also combine the vinegar & baking soda if desired.

Washing or pre-soaking baby clothes, bedding & Cloth Diapers etc for Baby
For Washing: Simply use baking soda, Borax &/or Washing soda (make your own washing soda)
For Pre-Soaking: Use any of the above diaper pail (cloth) ideas

Sour smell out of Nursing Bra: Soak in baking soda & warm water.

Cleaning & Freshening Crib Mattress & Crib
If covered in plastic simply use one of the above spray cleaners & wipe it down & the railings of the crib, if the mattress is not plastic covered spray with vinegar lightly, sprinkle on baking soda & sit in sun, vacuum once dry. Check out the other 2 bedroom posts for more ideas (linked to above)

Carpet freshening, sprinkle with baking soda or baking soda & borax, work in with broom, allow to sit several hours & vacuum up.

Changing Table & Crib: (Not Wood) You can use any of the disinfecting sprays above or simply mix 1/2 cup of vinegar in warm water with a few drops of natural liquid soap & wipe with a wash cloth or sponge, this can also be used on most cribs & Nursery Furniture if not wood.

Changing Table & Crib: (Wooden) Combine olive oil & lemon juice & use a dry wash cloth & clean & buff. Can be used on Crib & most wooden furniture safely as well.

Window/Glass cleaner: Use strait white vinegar, or mix vinegar, lemon juice & water to clean.

Bottles & sippy cups, soaking, freshening & cleaning: To soak & refresh bottle use 1/2 cup vinegar & 1/2 cup baking soda mixed in a sink of hot water, soak & scrub, rinse & allow to dry. Options to add: 1/2 cup lemon or Lime juice, 1/4 cup Borax or 1/4 cup peroxide.

For stains on or in bottles & sippy cups: use a baking soda water paste after soaking & scrub with a sponge.

Diaper bag cleaning & odors: Use disinfecting spray #1 or #4 misting the inside of the bag, wipe with dry wash cloth & allow to air dry, for more odor eliminating power sprinkle baking soda in the diaper bag over night & a few drops of Peppermint, Eucalyptus or Lavender essential oil.

Sour milk smell or other lingering smells: Spray with white vinegar & sprinkle on baking soda & corn starch if you can find the spill, work in & allow to dry & vacuum up. If you can not find the spill simply sit several boxes of open baking soda in the room till smell is gone & spray disinfecting spray #4 around.

Tip: keep an open box of baking soda in several locations in the Nursery, near the diaper pail, changing table & crib if room is large.

Bugs/pests roaches etc: The last thing you want is creepy Crawlies in the Nursery, so routinely put Food grade diatomaceous earth on carpets & around overnight & vacuum up (a deodorizer also) you can also repel  pests by leaving under rugs, behind furniture & along baseboard.

How to make DIY orange or lemon infused vinegar for cleaning, skin and hair

How would you like to take the cleaning, germ fighting, bacteria killing power of white vinegar & add the grease & grim cutting power of citrus?

Or how about the greatness of apple cider vinegar for face, hair & skin with the power of citrus? For blemishes, Antioxidant for collagen building, Reduce fine lines and wrinkles for face & skin,. For greasy, dry, brittle to achieve soft and silky hair that is manageable & healthy for hair.

Such a great use for left over peels.

Vinegar:
Yes I have been telling you just how great white vinegar is for cleaning & how awesome apple cider vinegar is for body & hair, but some people just do not like the smell of vinegar. So we change it up & create an amazing mixture that smells great, cleans great & is awesome for skin & hair. Yes you can still smell the vinegar depending on how long you leave your concoction sitting & how may peels or what kind of peels, ACV also still has a stronger smell. But we love this combo & the fresh scent of citrus it give us. It is not a fake citrus scent. As a cleaner it can be used in any DIY recipe that calls for vinegar, for body, skin & hair it again can be used in any DIY recipe or no poo recipe just fine.

How to:

For these recipes you can use Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit or any citrus peels you want or even a combo of types.

Citrus cleaning Vinegar
Quart glass jar with sealing lid
Peels from 5 to 6 citrus fruit (like 5 or 6 oranges)
Fill jar with white vinegar
Seal jar & sit in the cupboard 2 to 4 weeks.

Strain vinegar into spray bottle, add water ratio: 1 part vinegar to 1 part pure water, or add straight for tough jobs, or add to your favorite DIY cleaner
Use for glass cleaner, kitchen & bathroom cleaner, for soap scum, lime, tubs & in laundry
Make a soap scum & grime soft scrub by adding baking soda in a paste, works great on waterspots & hard water stains.

Citrus hair & skin Vinegar
Quart glass jar with sealing lid
Peels from 5 to 6 citrus fruit (like 5 or 6 lemons)
Fill jar with Apple Cider Vinegar (Or use a raw ACV like Bragg Brand or Coconut water vinegar)
Seal jar & sit in the cupboard 3 to 4 weeks or even longer. Strain vinegar into glass bottle for use.

For hair add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to hot water & put on already washed & rinse hair, work in to scalp & hair,let sit a few minutes or longer, rinse out, lightly rinse out or leave in depending on your like or hair type
Can be used every time you wash your hair, great for the no poo method
The is great for scalp issues, dull hair, people with allergies to conditioner etc.
Great for skin issues, dry skin, oily skin, rashes, acne, white heads, black heads, dark spots etc leaves skin very soft
Can be used straight or with water for a face wash or astringent
Can also be used as a exfoliate &/or a mask mixed into a paste with baking soda, wait till its done fizzing to apply, rub gently in circles
Can also be mixed with food grade diatomaceous earth, clay powder, Omega Greens powder, coarse oatmeal etc for a exfoliate &/or face mask.

Spray mist: You can also add this flower infused vinegar in a small misting spray bottle either straight, mixed 50/50 with water. Great as a hair, skin & body mist. This would also make a great travel spray surface sanitizing cleaner/hand sanitizer to carry in your purse (check out what I carry in my purse here)

Alternatives to add to cleaning vinegar or hair & skin vinegar either alone, mixed or with citrus for infusing:
Fresh mint leaves (or dried, can be mint of choice or mixture)
Fresh rose petals or rosehips (or dried)
Eucalyptus leaves
Strong brewed tea (like rosemary, lemon, green, chamomile etc)

Options to add to finished vinegar:
Essential oils, lemon juice, Brewed teas (see above) or use your imagination.

Yup it is that easy
